Originally a musician (Master in composition from the University of Montreal), Francis has been dancing Argentine Tango since 1994. He came to Ottawa in 1999 and established the Siempre Tango School of Argentine Tango, where he was the director and main teacher for 20 years.
As a dancer, his generous and engaging musical presence make him a favorite on the dance floor; as a teacher, he is known for his humour and eye for detail. In 2000, Francis met brigitte and started taking Alexander Technique lessons in exchange for tango lessons. They married in 2002 and have been teaching and performing together ever since.
To continue his exploration of the mind/body connection in movement, Francis enrolled at the Ottawa School of the Alexander Technique’s 3-year teacher training course.
He is now a certified Alexander Technique teacher and member of ATC/CANSTAT, the Canadian Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique. He is currently enjoying a fine Alexander Technique practice. Francis is member of the Musicians Wellness A.T. Team at the Musicians Wellness Centre, University of Ottawa, administrator of the Ottawa School of the Alexander Technique, as well as assistant director and trainer of the Montreal School of the Alexander Technique.
